TEACHERS


The orchestra is supported by highly trained and dedicated professional musicians: Tatiana Ganenko S.Y.O. founder, Loretta Taylor, violinist, Michael Jordin, woodwinds, and Alexx Hinkle, violinist.

TATIANA GANENKO, Music Director and Founder

Ms. Ganenko is Sunset Youth Orchestra music director, violinist soloist, teacher, and music arranger. She was a member of Sacramento Symphony for 10 years, graduate
of St. Petersburg Conservatory, played with St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, and San Francisco Chamber Orchestra. Tatiana also teaches violin in French American International School. Her students were accepted into San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra, and New York Juliard School of Music.

LORETTA TAYLOR, Violin

Ms. Taylor received her music degree from San Francisco State University, magna cum laude.  She has performed extensively in orchestras throughout the San Francisco Bay Area as well as in orchestras in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Perth, Australia.  She is concertmaster of the San Francisco Sinfonietta and principal second violin of the Santa Cruz County Symphony.  Currently, Loretta is a faculty member at the Community Music Center (CMC) in San Francisco where she teaches violin, chamber music and is concertmaster of the CMC Orchestra.  In addition, she teaches at the School of the Arts High School in San Francisco, string coach at Giannini Middle School as well as an assistant for the Sunset Youth Orchestra.  Loretta has coached chamber music for the Chamber Musicians of Northern California and the Sequoia Chamber Music Workshop.  She has been a soloist with the Old First Orchestra, Community Music Center Orchestra and the New Millennium Strings.  Loretta has also participated in numerous festivals and workshops in the United States and abroad in Germany, Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua and Switzerland.  Loretta lives in San Francisco where she maintains a private violin studio.

MICHAEL JORDIN, Woodwinds

Mr. Jordin is a native San Franciscan who maintains an active schedule
as a musician both as a performer and as a teacher. He specializes in the woodwind family of instruments, particularly in clarinet. His teachers have included David Breeden, Mark Brandenburg and Donald Carroll. He also performs a great deal a bass singer. He teaches clarinet in his private studio and is also on the faculty of the San Francisco Community Music Center.
He has been coaching the woodwind section of the Sunset Youth Orchestra for 2 years.
